The importance of cow is as old as human  existense . whether Spiritual, medicinal  or scientific, Cow is significant in all three ways.
The Mahabharata (Adi Parva book) has mention that Kamadhenu, who  rose from the churning of the cosmic ocean .(Samudra manthan) by the gods and demons to acquire Amrita (ambrosia, elixir of life). As such, she is regarded the offspring of the gods and demons, created when they churned the cosmic milk ocean and then gifted to the Saptarishi, the seven great seers. She was ordered by the creator-god Brahma to give milk, and supply it and ghee ("clarified butter") for ritual fire-sacrifices
According to the Ramayana, Surabhi is the daughter of sage Kashyapa and his wife Krodhavasa, the daughter of Daksha. Surabhi who is described as the mother of all cows in the text. However in the Puranas like Vishnu Purana and Bhagavata Purana, Surabhi is described as the daughter of Daksha and the wife of Kashyapa, as well as the mother of cows and buffaloes.
The Devi Bhagavata Purana narrates that Krishna and his lover Radha were enjoying dalliance, when they thirsted for milk. So, Krishna created a cow called Surabhi and a calf called Manoratha from the left side of his body, and milked the cow. When drinking the milk, the milk pot fell on the ground and broke, spilling the milk, which became the Kshirasagara, the cosmic milk ocean. Numerous cows then emerged from the pores of Surabhi's skin and were presented to the cowherd-companions (Gopas) of Krishna by him. Then Krishna worshipped Surabhi and decreed that she—a cow, the giver of milk and prosperity—be worshipped at Diwali on Bali Pratipada day.

Verses of the Rigveda refer to the cow as Devi (goddess), identified with Aditi (mother of the gods) herself.
It is  well known that ancient culture of India includes Incient system of medicine , Ayurveda, which is not only a system of treating patients but science of life.It deals with building sound body, sound mind and sound soul too. Ayurveda has explain the importance of cow products -cow milk, curd, ghee, urine ,butter milk at several place in classical text.
In the very first Chapter of Charak samhita, Dheerga jivantiya adhyaya, our ancient Acharaya has clearly mentioned the importance and uses of cow’s urine.Cows urine is mentioned as krimihar (anti microbial) ,useful in worm infestation and in several  skin disorders.
Most of the Ayurvedic medicines are processed with  cow’s mutra (urine). Several herbs like vatsnaabh is purified with the help of cow’s urine and cow’s urine helps to develops medicinal properties in vatsnaabh. This is one of the reason that all ayurvedic medicines are more organic and easily absorbed.
In Charak Chikitsa sthaan, Apsmaar chikitsa rogadhikar,Cow’s urine is useful in managing epilepsy( apsmaar). It is used as Nasyam i.e sternutatories or errhines. Panch gavya ghrith,a time tested medicine,is highly effective .
As mentioned in the classical text of Ayurveda, Sushrut  samhita, Cow’s urine is a time tested remedy for several gastrointestinal diseases like vomitings, hyperacidity, gastric disorder, liver diseases like hepatitis, jaundice , skin diseases like psoriasis, blood pressure,  cardiac ailments like thrombosis, bold clotts and even in disease like cancer.
In Ayurveda , each and every patient is an individual entity and the treatment also differs from patient to patient. Rogi Nidaan has its different parameters. It’s not as simple as in modern medicines. Prakriti parikshan, Saar, Sahanan(Compactness), Vyayam shakti(Exercise), Agni (Digestion)all these parameters are  studied by an ayurvedist. An ayurvedist makes a clear picture of the individual by understanding a patient as a whole and also  decides what kind of mode of  preparation to be used for the patient. Panch KashayKalpana(SWARAS(Juice),CHURNA(powder),KALK,HIM,PHANT,)  is based on this principle.
I have successfully  treated several patients  with GO MUTRA(cow’s urine) and Panchgavya  who were suffering from gastrointestinal diseases like vomitings, hyperacidity, gastric disorder, liver diseases like hepatitis, jaundice , skin diseases like psoriasis, blood pressure,  cardiac ailments like thrombosis, bold clotts and even in disease like cancer .
Today we are living in the world of scientific reasonings. The intellactual people are trying to find out  the best  treatment with minimium side effects and by reducing the doses of antibiotics. Many research scholars are working day and night for this noble work. Ayurveda is whole heartedly ready to be tested on this touch stone to explore the medical truth for the benefits of humanity.
